Grahamstown Science Festival
The Grade 9 class, accompanied by teachers Lucian Pienaar and Estelle Jacobs, attended Science and Maths related workshops at the Festival in May, which was a marvellous experience for them. The excursion included a day at the sea and game-spotting at the Cradock Zebra park. |

UK Big Lottery project
The 3-year project for the UK Lottery has successfully been completed and an independent evaluation carried out. The report on the findings of the evaluation will be included in the Annual Report for 2010, which will be available on the website within a couple of months |

Hospitality
Juanita Meyer, who passed top of the class at our Hospitality School, was sponsored to attend Steyn’s Culinary School in Pretoria by the director, Mrs Maritha Steyn. In June this year she will complete her Chef’s diploma.

ECD practitioner’s writing workshop
Sponsored by ApexHi, this workshop was held in the Magaliesberg in May and attended by two of our ECD practitioners who have been with the Trust from the very beginning, Lettie Martins and Thembakazi Matyeka |

FARR workshops
Hanna Mphemba was trained as a FARR (Foetal Alcohol Related Research) facilitator by CEO Liana Olivier, and she in turn will train our Effective Parenting trainers to disseminate information to the community regarding the effect of alcohol on the unborn child. |
