Everyone at Hantam knows that this Trust belongs to them, that without it they would be poorer. Because, without this Trust, they would be without hope. So everyone in the community contributes. However modest their contribution, parents pay what they can when they can. “Every single person in this district with something to offer has offered it,” says Lesley Osler.

And there’s been no vandalism or theft in 19 years. “They give all they can give,” people say about this far-flung community. So they wouldn’t steal their own futures.
